I really wanted to post often and life has been so busy. My husband lost his job in Nov and I am here to say that retirement really must be a busy time of life. We have been so busy with resume classes and unemployment meetings. Shortly after Doug lost his job, I did too!! Yes, both of us unemployed. Now, before we were in the church this sort of emergency would have I'm sure displaced us from our home and life as we know it. I am happy to say that we have had our lives touched by Heavenly Father and with sticking to the law of Tithing we have remained in our home and our lives have for the most part, remained the same. Seems just as I worry we might not have the money for a large bill, I remember FAITH and it all works out.
I have been a primary teacher for about two months now and the transition is starting to feel like the norm. I must say never being a teacher to others children before has made this adjustment a challenge but I have learned to look forward to seeing their little eyes light up when they learn something new.
I felt as if I couldn't possibly teach them anything that they couldn't teach me. I have found with the help of www.sugerdoodle.net and lost of preparation on the weekly planning I have started to feel more confident when teaching my 5 and 6 year olds.
Although the job searching is still in full swing I have a great testimony of the law of tithing, it has been a blessing in our lives and to know that we are not alone and that Heavenly Father and our church are always on our side, makes me feel safe!!
I am going to work very hard at making this Blog part of my weekly routine. Hope to see you all back here soon.
God Bless!!Melissa Fitzsimmonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09888185971523346599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814820202911360645.post-28550455777341675292009-12-02T22:15:00.000-08:002009-12-02T22:15:12.358-08:00Its been Awhile:)Life has been so busy!!! My son was Baptised on Nov 1st 2009 and it has been one of the most meaningful joys of my life. I have started homeschooling Brian and I see such a change in the development of the young man he is becoming. It seemed like when he was in public school if it wasn't a bully he was having trouble with it was always something, almost like a depression. I think that once kids become a target to bully's they have a very hard time changing that status and I see true happiness and Joy in Brian since we started homeschooling.
Our family is becoming stronger in our faith and starting to feel that the routine of prayers and scripture are "The Norm". Becoming a convert is not an easy adjustment. My life has changed so much and I know everyday that this was the right choice for me and my family. We have been truly blessed with wonderful family and friends and a ward family that has been so kind to us. I look forward to church and as a child I remember feeling that church was so boring and oh, how I dreaded it. I now know that it is when you know you are in the right place, the place you were always meant to be..it feels right!!
Thanking my Heavenly Father for every breath.Melissa Fitzsimmonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09888185971523346599noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814820202911360645.post-50421305022422145902009-10-06T22:44:00.000-07:002009-10-06T22:44:24.866-07:00Today, I am Blessed!!! I'm so excited. My son has decided to be Baptised. I cant tell you the prayers I have made for this and how much I have wanted this. I am so happy to see him make such amazing choices at the age of 12. We sat tonight with the missionaries and what a beautiful thing to watch your own child explain who God is to them and what it would mean to be Baptised. My heart is TRULY FULL!!!Melissa Fitzsimmonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09888185971523346599noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814820202911360645.post-64641504420653788362009-10-03T00:23:00.000-07:002009-10-03T00:23:00.322-07:00I read this and thought it was lovely!!To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. I love this so much, I know it is not to late for my Son to grow into a strong child of God and that with what I have taught him in his first 12 years and in the next several will be a large portion of the man he will soon become.Melissa Fitzsimmonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09888185971523346599noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814820202911360645.post-45094439516047704552009-09-29T23:04:00.000-07:002009-09-29T23:04:40.325-07:00I LOVE THIS!! Today I was driving in a heavy amount of traffic and as I started getting worked up over the rudeness of people and how dangerous cell phone users are..I remembered that I have the things I need and that Heavenly Father is with me so I took a nice deep breath and everything looked so much more calm and beautiful.
